When 120 days to go June 13, 2026 at 8:30am 5 hrs

This is one of Republic's most iconic protests, targeting the Royal's balcony moment.

Trooping the Colour is a military parade which celebrates Charles's 'official' birthday in June, with various regiments conducting military displays on horseback, concluding with a balcony appearance from the royal family.

Every year, the royals hijack this parade to remain relevant. This balcony moment puts privilege and birth above merit and democracy.

Last year, attempts were made to keep us out of sight as the royals waved from their balcony. They were clearly rattled by the protest in 2024.

This year, we wont let that happen. Trooping the Colour is a public event, and we have every right to peacefully protest there.

Location

The Republic Team will be there from 8.30am on The Mall. We’ll be protesting on The Mall, on the Green Park side not far from Buckingham Palace.

More information coming soon about location details!

Republic's protests are good-natured and a lot of fun. Come and join people from around the UK to protest against the monarchy, to challenge the royals and to tell the world: we're not a nation of royalists.

Want to volunteer at this protest? Check out the Trooping the Colour Volunteer page and get signed up - there's a role for everyone!

More details to be announced soon. Pledge to protest today.

This is what people are saying about Republic protests!

Thanks for organising. I went by myself, didn't know anyone. It was really well organised . Obviously the organisers didn't have time to make a point of talking to everyone who turned up but it was really easy to join in. Two trollies full of placards to help ourselves to. Bigger banners unfurled by organisers. I was made to feel really welcome , plenty of people happy to talk and Graham and George were very accessible to ask questions of about the procedure of the day. Also the huge dinosaur was impressive and a great symbol , quite noticeable. A Tyrannosaurus Rex named Chuck The Rex . Quite humourous and suitably belongs in a museum. Anyone wanting to go should not feel out or place.
It was great being with so many interesting people and sharing our thoughts. It made me feel part of the campaign.
I enjoyed talking to other people who felt the same way as me.
I enjoyed doing something for a cause with like-minded people. Good organisation of the protest and coordination of volunteers.
There was a real sense of community - I came alone but felt very welcomed by all!
I enjoyed meeting other Republic members, feeling part of a movement. I was also pleased that the protest was mentioned in the BBC website report of the event.
It was great to hear encouragement from tourists who were anti-monarchy. It's always good to meet up with Republic members I have met before, and those I haven't!
