Celebrate Scotland’s Parliament, not the Monarchy
Republic Edinburgh will be protesting the Royals’ appearance at the Scottish Parliament which marks its 25th anniversary on Saturday 28th September.
Instead of celebrating the people and organisations that represent modern Scotland, Charles and Camilla are parachuting in to take part in a ceremony.
This makes a mockery of what the Scottish parliament is meant to stand for!
Republic activists will be there to oppose their visit so join them in telling Charles that he is not our king by pledging to protest.
Scottish support for the monarchy is collapsing, so we must show the majority of Scots do not want them there, least of all on a day of celebration for Scottish democracy.
Where?
The group will be meeting outside Kilderkin on the Royal Mile, before setting off to protest outside the Scottish Parliament building less than 5 minute walk away.
When?
The Edinburgh group will be meeting at 10:00am. This will give enough time to get the ideal spot for Charles entering parliament at approximately 11:30am. The protest will be finished by approximately 1pm.
If you are coming make sure to pledge to protest and join the group below!
