By 1984, he went full-time, becoming a main writer on Spitting Image and later writing for comedians such as Lenny Henry and Pamela Stephenson. Transitioning into producing, Atkinson led Rory Bremner’s long-running show and produced acclaimed work for Jo Brand, including Getting On and Going Forward. Beyond comedy, he has produced documentaries and current affairs programs for Dispatches (Including a recent expose on royal exploitation of the Duchies), winning numerous awards including BAFTA and RTS.
