The late Queen’s cover-up of the Prince Andrew scandal has been challenged today with posters put up on Buckingham Palace railings.
Posters advertising the exhibition of the Queen’s dresses were replaced with look-alike posters asking ‘What did she know?’
Featuring a picture of the Queen, the poster said the Queen is presented “as an empty dress” while she was a “flawed person who always put family before country.”
Speaking for Republic, Graham Smith said today:
“The anniversary of the Queen’s birth is a whitewash of history. A lot of empty words that ignore the cover-up of Andrew and the systematic abuse of public funds.”
“As the posters say, we need an honest history to be told of the royals and the secrets they are so keen to protect.”
“Support for the monarchy is falling, a third of the country wants it gone and protests like this will continue.”
“May 9th will see a large demo right outside the gates of Buckingham Palace as part of the third Republic Day. A strong statement of the continuing growth of this campaign.”
The posters were put up over or alongside existing posters on the palace railings. They were still there some time after being put up.
