On the 30th October, Rachel Reeves will announce the budget, arguing that 'tough decisions' need to made. This means significant cuts to public services.
This is happening while the royal budget balloons to half a billion per year. It's not our services that need budget cuts - it's the royal budget that needs to be slashed.
We’ll be protesting outside the Houses of Parliament on the 30th October, making it clear that the half billion royal budget must go!
Timings
The protest officially starts at 11.00am, with Rachel Reeves expected to make her budget announcement from 12:30pm.
The Republic team and volunteers will be setting up from 10.00am onwards. If you can, turn up from then to help get our protest underway!
Location
We’ll be on Abingdon Street in front of College Gardens, where the media will be. Let's make sure the scandal of the half billion royal budget is known by the public, media and government.
Travel
There are multiple tube stations that protestors can use to get to the area on the day, although we’d advise using these ones:
- Westminster (5 min walk)
- St James Park (10 min walk)
- Waterloo (17 min walk)
