Come along to this episode of Beyond the Royal Headlines, a new live online event with Republic's CEO Graham Smith.

What is the monarchy for? That's the question being asked by Dr Laura Clancy, lecturer in media in the sociology department, Lancaster University.

Laura will be the first guest on Beyond The Royal Headlines, chatting with Graham about her new book, What is the Monarchy for?

Laura's research focuses on inequality, particularly 'the elites' and the monarchy. She is the author of “Running the Family Firm: How the monarchy manages its image and our money”. Her new book asks 'what is the monarchy actually for? Does it benefit the UK, or cause more harm than good?'

There will a chance to join the discussion and ask questions.
