Charles, William and other royals were confronted by a number of protests during Trooping the Colour today.
Umbrellas with the message 'Stop the Reign' and large banners asking 'What did you know?' were seen along the route and outside Buckingham Palace.
The protests, organised by the anti-monarchy group Republic, called for Charles and William to answer questions on the Andrew scandal and for an end to the monarchy.
The Met Police earlier put conditions on the protest, a move Republic condemned as dishonest and unlawful. Questions will be asked as to why draconian measures are put in place when recent marches by Tommy Robinson and Neo-Nazis through Central London proceed without conditions.
Protestors were forced back from barriers near The Mall, with the police claiming the protest could "cause serious damage to property", despite Republic having a long history of peaceful protest.
Regardless, royals were confronted by a protest as they travelled to Horse Guards Parade, with large signs asking 'What did you know?', along with now infamous pictures of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
As Charles, William and others gathered on the palace balcony, activists unfurled a set of umbrellas reading 'Stop the Reign'.
Speaking for Republic, Graham Smith said today:
"These questions about what the royals knew about Andrew and when aren't going away. And nor are these protests, even in the face of increasing repression from the Met Police."
"The scandal has done huge damage to the monarchy, just as social and economic struggles are helping drive down support among the under-50s."
"Now is the time to bring openness and honesty to this debate, to end royal secrets and to abolish the monarchy. It's time to stop the reign."
"There is a serious, democratic alternative to the monarchy. One that will strengthen our democracy and which won't breed secrecy and corruption."
"That's our message today: demand answers, end this rotten institution, embrace democratic change."
"These protests will continue until that goal is achieved."
