Jassa Ahluwalia

Star of Peaky Blinders and Unforgotten Jassa Ahluwalia has been confirmed as guest speaker! Jassa will be talking about patriotism, monarchy and our imperial legacy, issues he discusses in his new book Both Not Half.

Where did the £500m come from?

You'll hear from John Cross, Republic’s volunteer researcher who worked on our new Half a Billion Royals report.

The report has hit the headlines over the last week, showing just how much the royals cost the taxpayer. John will set out the details and talk about why the monarchy costs so much.

Meet the Team

Hear from Republic Vice-Chair Anna Britten and Republic Outreach Officer Sabina Arthur about Republic’s plans for the next year, alongside discussing issues surrounding democracy that matter to the overall campaign.

It’s all kicking off Down Under

Republic’s CEO Graham Smith will be joining Members’ Day from Melbourne, Australia. He’s there to stage events and protests to coincide with Charles’s visit to Australia later in the month. Graham will be joined by Sarah Brasch, convenor of Women for an Australian Republic, who will be zooming in from Canberra.

A Year of Protest

Republic's Protest and Activism Coordinator George McNaughton Ellis will be giving you a full rundown of all things activism and protest. You’ll also hear from local ambassadors about the big events this year and what’s planned next year.

We've staged nearly a dozen stunts and protests and been mentioned in the media over 500 times in 2024. 

Republic's Protest and Activism Coordinator George McNaughton Ellis will be giving an update on the past year, as well as telling you more about the exciting upcoming actions, protests and outreach events we have planned looking ahead to 2025. 

You will also hear from some of our fantastic Ambassadors who have been putting Republic in the spotlight this summer, and supporting the local group network to have grown to an incredible 1000+ activists!

In the afternoon George will be running a workshop session specifically for Ambassadors, supporters and our activist network. Come along if you are a member who wants to get more involved!
