Republic has today criticised plans being proposed by a group of MPs to rename parliament's east tower, which houses Big Ben, Elizabeth Tower.

Producers of the BBC's Gary Barlow jubilee documentary have made it clear that the corporation is seeking entirely one-sided celebratory coverage of the jubilee, in emails leaked to Republic.

On 3rd June 2012 Republic will hold a major protest against the monarchy at the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. With thousands of republicans expected to attend, this will be the biggest and boldest anti-monarchy protest in modern times.
