Where you live
Last week Republic emailed about all the different things we'll be doing in 2020, to get the debate to a wider audience right across the country. That includes the start of Republic's Where You Live tour, for which lots of supporters have been donating money and ideas.
We're now confirming some of the details starting with a visit by our CEO, Graham Smith, to Douglas on the Isle of Man on 27th January, to talk about the need for a republic and to debate the issues with a local audience. All event details will be listed on the website at www.republic.org.uk/events.
Here's the draft list of towns and cities we've got lined up:
Isle of Man
Members' Day in London
Each event will be unique, they might be a talk, debate, speeches or film screenings. As well as donating to the tour costs you can also help by suggesting towns and cities to add to the tour or venues in the places we're already planning to head to. Or if you like you can help organise the event locally. Any donation of £200 or more guarantees your suggested town or city will be included!
Will you donate so we can do more?
Thanks to the amazing support of so many of our supporters we've already raised enough money to do lots of these dates. But we need to keep raising money if the tour is to be a success.
We need to pay for
- promotional materials and
- media work, so these events get to the widest audience possible.
Donating is easy, just visit www.republic.org.uk/whereyoulive
So, will you donate £35 or whatever you can afford to help make this tour a great success?
With your support Republic will get out there, from Lands End to John O'Groats, with one simple message: the monarchy must go!
Like what Republic does?
Unlike the royals, Republic can't guarantee its funding - we rely entirely on the support of people like you, people who care about Britain's democracy.
If everyone who reads our updates and follows our campaigns became a member or supported us with a donation – we'd be well on the way to achieving a democratic alternative to the monarchy.
