Anti-monarchy activists joined the national Make Them Pay March today in London, rallying with a number of other groups calling for billionaires and the wealthy to pay their fair share.
Charles is exempt from paying tax and although the Palace claims he does so voluntarily, the true amount is not made available to the public.
A recent report found that the royals now cost Britain over half a billion pounds a year, with this number likely to rise after future sovereign grant increases.
Speaking for Republic, Graham Smith said:
"Charles is the corrupt billionaire-in-chief. He also avoids taxes wherever he can, taking a huge inheritance tax-free and refusing to reveal how much tax he truly pays."
"The whole royal family are bad value for money. They're secretive and corrupt. They hide their interests and indiscretions away from prying eyes."
"That's why we marched today. It's time for the cost of the monarchy to come down. It's time for Charles to pay his fair share."
"We cannot challenge issues of tax and social justice without challenging the monarchy."
