Royal Archives: What do they have to hide?
Professor Jenny Hocking from Melbourne and Alex von Tunzelmann here in the UK will discuss royal archives and the battle to uncover royal secrets.
Jenny Hocking is behind a legal challenge in Australia to secure the release of official correspondence between the former Governor General and the palace, documents which the archives have marked ‘personal’. Historian and author Alex von Tunzelmann has claimed the royals are more secretive than the CIA.
Republic will be launching a new chapter in our Royal Secrets campaign very soon, demanding the opening up of the royal archives.

Book your place
We're back at the great National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) building, just a short 7 or 8 minute walk from Kings Cross and St Pancras stations in London. This was a popular venue in previous years so we have chosen to return in 2017.
Food for thought
Tickets include lunch and refreshments.
Members' at previous Members' Day and AGMs told us they loved that their ticket included lunch, giving them more time to debate the issues, meet other members, and talk to speakers and key figures in the campaign. This time we will have fresh sandwiches and wraps, vegetable samosas, fresh fruit and more. We'll also be serving tea, coffee and juices throughout the breaks.
