Activists unveiled huge letters spelling out 'Not My King' outside Dartmoor Visitor Centre today, before displaying placards in front of HMP Dartmoor prison.

Local anti-monarchy activists were protesting against Charles and William's unjustified control of the Duchy of Cornwall.

Charles and William take millions in Duchy profits. This includes profits from Dartmoor and a £1.5 million rental bill for HMP Dartmoor each year.

Speaking for Republic, Graham Smith said:

"Duchy land is our land. Charles and William receive the income only because they are monarch and heir, they do not own the duchies."

"It's disgraceful that William gets away with charging the Ministry of Justice over a million a year for the use of HMP Dartmoor, which continues to stand empty."

"That's why local campaigners took action today, protesting against the royals exploiting our Dartmoor land for their personal profit."

"It's time to ditch the duchies. It's time to abolish the monarchy."
