Professional lobbyists are paid to influence legislation as well as public opinion. However, any interested person can lobby local councillors or parliamentarians if they know how to do it effectively. This session will focus on the variety of different ways of influencing politicians looking at the most effective methods or getting the issue on their radar. We'll look at how best to identify, approach and influence the key decision-makers of Westminster, Whitehall, the Devolved Assemblies, Local Government, political parties and other public bodies.

This session will go over many of the common arguments made against republicanism or for the monarchy, and will set out ways in which you can counter arguments and keep the focus of debate on the key issues of the campaign. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion during this session, so if there are pro-monarchy arguments you would like help with bring them along.

The School Talks workshop will go through in detail how to arrange and conduct debates and presentations at schools and universities in your area. Areas covered will include 'how to get the gig', preparation, content and structure of talks, dealing with questions and debate and follow up.

This workshop is about getting people to think about how they can use the Freedom of Information Act and similar legislation to gain useful information for the local and national campaign. It can cover advice on how to draft a request for information, who to write to and also what sort of information you can ask for. We can also cover the sorts of areas that can provide useful campaign ammunition, FOI success stories and what to do if you don't get the information you ask for. If there is some specific information about the Royal Family that you would like to request then we may be able to help you get it.

This session will explore how best to communicate with the media, how the media works and what journalists respond to. You will gain some insight into how best to shape campaigning activity to improve your chances of media exposure.

This is a chance to discuss the national campaign and the role and nature of publicity stunts that are currently being discussed by the national campaign team. Jayde will introduce the subject and outline a number of ideas that have been developed so far.
