You can write to your MP either by post or by email. It's easy. We've even provided some key points for your letter or email (See bottom of the page.)

Click on your MP's name. This should take you to a form where you can complete your details and add a message.

Enter your details and, using the points we've provided below, write your message in the message box.

Remember, keep it polite, brief and to the point!

When your message is ready (don't forget to add your name to the bottom of the letter!) click on Preview your message and follow the instructions (you'll need to check your email inbox). Your message has been sent!

All you need to do is find the name of your MP and then write to them at the following address:

What to say in your letter or email

It's a good idea to start by getting straight to the point, by saying:

"As one of your constituents I am asking if you will support Republic, the Campaign for an Elected Head of State."

You may also want to include some or all of the following points.

Remember! Keep your letter brief, polite and to the point.

• Mention that you are a member or supporter of Republic.
• The monarchy is both undemocratic and unfair. In a modern democracy we should all have the right, as citizens equal in law, to collectively choose who we want to represent us as the British Head of State.
• Despite the many myths supporting a system of monarchy - such as increased tourism and political stability - it is clear that such a system is long outdated and indefensible. Inherited power and privilege can no longer be seen as acceptable.
• Ask if your MP agrees with your view that we should replace the monarchy with an elected Head of State. If your MP does agree, perhaps they would also consider giving their official support to Republic's campaign.
• Let them know more details of Republic and our aims can be found at www.republic.org.uk.
